NOW PROVIDING BREAKFAST AND LUNCH
Hey! I’m Joel, the founder of Lit Kids Only LLC, and the heartbeat behind all the fun, learning, and love we pour into our programs.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Hampton University (HU—you know!), and later completed my Early Childhood coursework and certification at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). I’m also First Aid and CPR certified, because safety is just as important as fun when it comes to caring for our little ones. While my educational background helped shape me, it’s been the grace of God that has truly guided this journey.
Family has always been at the center of everything I do. I’m a proud mom of two amazing boys, and I’ve always been that mom—the one all the neighborhood kids want to go with, because they know it’s going to be fun, loving, and full of good energy. I believe deeply in the power of family and community, and I bring that same family-first mindset into every part of Lit Kids Only.
I also have to give credit where it’s due—my parents have played a huge role in shaping the woman I am today. Their love, sacrifices, and example of hard work and compassion have been the foundation of how I show up in this world. They taught me to lead with heart, to serve others, and to always keep God first—and that’s exactly the spirit I bring into this business.
I’ve always had a passion for creating safe, joyful spaces where children can grow, learn, and be themselves. I believe fun and education can (and should) go hand in hand, and that’s exactly what we bring to life here.
My vision is to not only build the best summer camp in Charlotte, but to create something bigger—something that truly brings the community together. Whether it’s through partnerships, parent involvement, or giving local youth a space to lead and shine, Lit Kids Only is about building a village that supports and uplifts every child.
This vision wouldn’t be possible without God’s favor. I’m walking in purpose and trusting Him every step of the way. I’m also actively working toward opening a full-service childcare center to serve even more families in our community.
Thank you for being here—and thank you for trusting us with your children. With love, laughter, learning, family, community, and lots of grace… let’s make this summer LIT!
